BOLD Fellows fund: Stanford MBA's Fund for Low-Income Family

The main aim of the BOLD Fellows Fund is to provide financial assistance to students facing socio-economic hardships and further establish Stanford’s commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The fund is a part of the IDEAL (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access in a Learning environment) initiative that Stanford started in 2018 and began addressing with a strategic plan since 2021. 

The students admitted to the Stanford MBA program are only eligible for this fellowship program. 

Toigo MBA Fellowships: For Minority MBA Entering Finance (Explained)

The Toigo Fellowships have supported minority US MBA candidates entering the Finance industry for the past 30 years. 

With an alumni network of over 1300 professionals, the Toigo Fellowship, synchronized with a two-year MBA experience, features a curriculum structured around a fall commencement and a summer internship between the two years. 

Since the application process of most of the US-based schools coincides with the Fellowship, applicants can apply before getting accepted to an MBA program. 

The Jefferson Fellowship Program – Darden MBA’s $180,000 Award

Established in the 1990s, the Jefferson Fellowship Program shortlists outstanding candidates from around the world who exhibit strong leadership qualities. 

The Jefferson Scholars Foundation's measures look closely at instances of ethical leadership, diplomatic intervention and decisive action, a proven ability to translate ideas into action, and a stellar academic record. 

Oculus Fellowship – The Full-Tuition Award at Darden (Merit-Based)

The Oculus Fellowships, started in 2020-21, recognizes exceptional leadership potential and academic competence in applicants. 

Named after the Oculus, the circular opening in the dome of the hall, the fellowships symbolize the impact of the presence of enlightened students in the university and the MBA program.  

Similar to most cohort-based fellowship programs, Oculus fellows enjoy exclusive access to famed Darden alum and receive mentorship from senior leadership and benefactors to the Oculus Fellowships.

Batten Media Fellowships at Darden MBA: US Nationals (Merit Based)

Established in 1988 by Frank Batten, the founder of The Weather Channel and the former chairman of the Associated Press, the Batten Media Fellowships at Darden MBA aims to provide professionals with at least three years of experience in the news media with the opportunity to pursue an MBA. The program has welcomed Batten Media Fellows from renowned media outlets, such as ABC News, CNN, National Geographic, and The Washington Post. 

Life Sciences Fellowship for Harvard MBA (MS/MBA BioTechnology)

Robert S. Kaplan - the Martin Marshall Professor of Practice at HBS established the Robert S. Kaplan (MBA 1983) Life Sciences Fellowship in 2008. As the Former CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and vice chairman of the Goldman Sachs Group, Inc, Professor Kaplan established the fellowship to assist Life Sciences Master’s students gain the expertise and support to start a Life Science venture.

RISE Harvard MBA Fellowship - $10,000 and One $150,000 Award

Harvard Business School has a unique fellowship - The Recognizing Individuals Seeking Equity (RISE). The fund is designed to support MBA candidates with consistent, long-standing, and demonstrable IMPACT on underrepresented communities of color in the United States, serving Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, and other underrepresented communities within the US.

Herman Family Fellowship for Women Entrepreneurs - Booth MBA

Karen and Michael Herman established The Herman Family Fellowship for Women Entrepreneurs in 1995 to support female students with entrepreneurial aspirations. In addition to financial aid, the fellowship offers exclusive access and networking opportunities to annual reunions sponsored by the Herman family and the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
