In January, Cornell Johnson is hosting 16 MBA events, comprising 6 virtual events and 10 in-person events. The month is largely centered on Winter Meet & Greet programming, offering prospective students multiple opportunities to engage informally with current MBA students across global locations, alongside a small set of virtual sessions focused on program insights and community-led conversations.
Virtual Chats
The virtual events include a Johnson Two-Year MBA Virtual Info Session on 7 January, which provides an overview of the full-time MBA curriculum, community, and admissions process, followed by Q&A. A series of Virtual Winter Meet & Greet: Ask Me Anything sessions with current students take place on 7 January, 16 January, and 19 January, offering informal discussions on student life and the Johnson experience. In addition, affinity-based AMAs include sessions with the Women’s Management Council on 15 January and the Korean Business Association (KBA) on 18 January, both designed to share perspectives on community, inclusion, and student leadership at Johnson.

It is easy to comment, but it is tough to structure the essay from the perspective of the applicant and turn the essay into a winning application essay.

A big part of editing and guiding applicants is in educating them about the culture of the school
Some schools have very ‘specific’ traits that they are looking for in an applicant.
If you don’t highlight them and lean towards general leadership or cultural narratives, the essay won’t work.

In-Person Events
The in-person events consist entirely of Winter Meet & Greet sessions, informal gatherings that allow prospective students to connect with current Cornell Johnson MBAs and learn about student life and the value of a Cornell MBA through casual conversation. These events are held on 7 January in Beijing and Los Angeles; 10 January in Lagos, New York City, and Washington DC; 12 January in San Francisco; 13 January in Singapore and São Paulo; 16 January in Boston; and 19 January in New Delhi. Together, these in-person meetups reflect Johnson’s strong emphasis on global outreach and peer-to-peer engagement early in the admissions cycle.
