Duke University's Fuqua School of Business founded the CASE Program in 2001 to study and share best practices of social entrepreneurs specializing offering solutions in social and environmental issues.
Since 2002, the program supports students, researchers, and practitioners, offer insights and resource to start a social venture, measure IMPACT, and offer specialized consulting services in IMPACT investing and corporate impact.
The case program has branched out to CASE i3, SEAD Social Entrepreneurship Accelerator, Change Academy, and Smart Impact Capital.
CASE offers financial aid programs for students with an interest in social impact that are collectively called the Duke Fuqua CASE Assistance.
Fuqua Impact Scholarship (formerly known as CASE Scholars)
The Fuqua Impact Scholarship, formerly known as CASE Scholars, is a collaborative effort between CASE and Fuqua Admissions. This merit-based scholarship is awarded to a select group of admitted Daytime MBA students with commitment to applying their skills for social IMPACT. In addition to the financial aid, students will also be part of the network and gain access to the academic centres.
No separate application is required.
Applicants, expressing interest in social IMPACT as part of the admissions to Daytime MBA program are considered for the scholarship.
Peace Corps Coverdell Fellowship
The Peace Corps Coverdell Fellowship is granted to incoming Daytime MBA students with a Peace Corps volunteer background.
Total Number of Awards: 7/year
Amount: 25% tuition
Coverdell Fellows in addition to the scholarship covering 25% tuition are also eligible for other merit-based scholarships and financial aid awards based on application strength.
The fellows will be part of the Durham community to offer their services.
Fuqua Summer Internship Fund
To support students with interest in working for a start-up, small business, or an IMPACT organization (non-profit), Duke Fuqua assists with the Fuqua Summer Internship Fund (SIF).
Created through collaborative efforts, including contributions from CASE, the Fuqua Net Impact Club, the Class of 1990 Endowment, and the Fuqua Career Management Center, SIF offers financial support in the spring semester, for the internship, with the condition that the engagement has significant impact on the organization.
CASE Launch Pad Award
The CASE Launch Pad Award acknowledges Duke MBA students or teams addressing social challenges through an idea or venture.
The annual winner, chosen at any venture stage, receives a $10,000 grant and mentorship from CASE's staff covering various operational expenses, learning costs and compensation for the team’s time.
Rex and Ellen Adams Loan Assistance Program
The Rex and Ellen Adams Loan Assistance Program (LAP) supports Fuqua Daytime MBA alumni working full-time for eligible nonprofits, government organizations, and certified B Corporations.
LAP provides loan forgiveness awards, offering financial assistance to alumni committed to making a difference in these sectors.
