First Section: The applicant starts the essay with her job title at the UN that, on the first impression, sounds exciting but requires managing multiple stakeholders with vastly different egos and incentives – an orchestration that can be frustrating and exciting. She ends the first paragraph with a sobering observation about working in a non-profit.
Second Section: The second paragraph starts with a line on why she switched from non-profit to Technology. With the challenge to offer a first-of-a kind advisory role for the oversight board, the reasoning to remove the content as part of editing/censoring required vigorous discussions on the socio-political and security impact on all the stakeholders. Her experience serving and working on peaceful transitions was valuable in over 2500+ editing decisions.
Third Section: The third section observes a trend in Finance and the new technology ecosystems that are created in global markets. With the need for systems, processes, policies, and frameworks for decision making, the applicant’s skills would be even more valuable with the support of Stanford’s rich curriculum. By going into the specifics of the curriculum, the applicant connects her experience to Stanford MBA.
