Profile: Mr. M

He also co-founded a non-profit to promote social inclusion in his community. He’s analytical, globally minded, and passionate about creating economic growth while delivering social impact.

Target Industry: Consulting

Target Function: Consulting

Target Geography: United States

Essay Approach: “Why Wharton?”

Mr. M should frame Wharton as the place where he can merge his strategic toolkit with leadership depth to grow internationally. Major consulting firms, including McKinsey & Company, Bain & Company, and Boston Consulting Group (BCG), offer candidates the opportunity to rotate between the US and Southeast Asia offices.

The school's location in Philadelphia allows for consistent on-campus recruiting and networking events. Students also leverage a network of alumni at these firms for guidance.

Student-led organizations are a key part of the process. The Wharton Consulting Club (WCC) organizes year-round events and provides support for case interview preparation. For students who want to apply their skills in a non-corporate setting, the Global Impact Consultants (WGIC) club provides pro-bono consulting to organizations in developing countries.

Wharton’s Strength: Wharton’s core courses in leadership and general management with majors that could be designed around traits needed to excel in Consulting and sustainability.
