LBS MBA Deadlines (2025)

London Business School (LBS) follows a structured three-round admissions process, allowing applicants to submit their applications at different stages. Each round has specific deadlines, interview periods, and decision dates. All application deadlines are at 17:00 UK time, and admission decisions are communicated via email by 23:30 UK time on the respective decision dates.

In this in-depth analysis of LBS MBA Deadlines and application timeline, we cover:

Application Deadlines: Selecting the Right Round

LBS provides three application rounds, each with unique advantages. Round 1 is best suited for applicants who want to maximize their chances of securing scholarships and need ample time for visa processing. This round is highly competitive but offers the most flexibility in securing a spot.

Round 2 is the most popular round, balancing preparation time with a strong chance of admission. Many applicants use this round to refine their applications based on early feedback from Round 1 applicants.

Round 3 is the final round, with fewer available seats and limited scholarship opportunities. It is best for exceptionally strong candidates who are confident in their profiles.

With the word limit typically in the 250 to 500 range, it is not easy to structure the essay without losing momentum.

As F1GMAT’s Lead Consultant and Essay Specialist, I will help you structure the essay by:

1)  Incorporating your Personal Brand

I will help you find unique life experiences that would differentiate you from the highly competitive LBS MBA application pool.

2)  Including Storytelling elements

I have developed a keen sense of storytelling from over a decade and a half of editing essays and writing essay examples for F1GMAT’s Essay Guides including F1GMAT's LBS MBA Essay Guide.

The skills that a writer/editor brings to the table are different from what a former admissions officer or a consultant who has limited writing skills brings

Review Skills # Writing Skills
Movie Critics # Movie Directors

It is easy to comment, but it is tough to structure the essay from the perspective of the applicant and turn the essay into a winning application essay.

3) Aligning with the Culture of the School

A big part of editing and guiding applicants is in educating them about the culture of the school

Stanford has very ‘specific’ traits that they are looking for in an applicant.

If you don’t highlight them and lean towards general leadership or cultural narratives, the essay won’t work.

I will guide you through the writing process.

I will also iteratively edit the essays without losing your original voice.

Interview Invitation Process

After submitting an application, selected candidates will be invited to an interview. LBS conducts interviews through alumni or senior admissions staff, typically in the applicant's home region. However, travel may be required depending on availability.
Receiving an interview invitation is a strong indicator of the committee’s interest, but it does not guarantee admission.

Interview Timeline

Once invited, candidates must complete their interviews within a set timeframe. These interviews provide an opportunity to demonstrate leadership qualities, career vision, and fit with LBS culture.

Interviews are a critical stage in the selection process, as they allow the admissions team to assess interpersonal skills, communication abilities, and overall program fit.

Round 1Mid-October to early-November 2024
Round 2Early-February to early March 2025
Round 3End of April to mid-May 2025

Admission Decision and Waitlist Process

Following the interview, the Admissions Committee carefully evaluates each applicant’s performance before reaching a final decision.

Applicants will receive one of three possible decisions:
•    Offer: A direct acceptance into the MBA program, based on a strong application and interview.
•    Waitlist: Applicants remain under consideration, and the committee may request additional information before making a final decision.
•    Reject: Unsuccessful candidates can reapply in future cycles.
