The applicant’s talent for pattern matching and logical thinking was rewarded by Amazon. He was offered a position as a catalog specialist in charge of fraud prevention. During his tenure with the technology giant, he developed a Machine Learning algorithm that detected fraudulent sellers. He was also responsible for developing a data identification method that made it easier to flag suspicious sellers right from registration.

Although a pioneer in developing an ML algorithm, he felt typecast in a niche specialist role. With a deep interest in investing, he found an opportunity with the research wing of a consulting giant as an analyst for the Technology and Finance industries. Among the research projects he led, two companies went on to IPO, and the third became the most valuable startup in India.

The competence and awards for his contributions to the research processes and methods were contributing factors in his promotion to a leadership position. Over the past 2 years, leading a team of seven, the applicant became interested in General Management. Even in his first leadership title, he introduced systems and processes that made it easier to manage teams and communicate cross-functionally.
