Columbia MBA Events - March 2025

Columbia Business School will host a total of 20 events in March 2025, including 9 in-person and 11 virtual sessions. The in-person events include multiple MBA Campus Visits, Insight into Deferred Enrollment MBA Programs across different locations, and a dedicated Deferred Enrollment Program Campus Visit. The virtual events cover topics such as application tips, diversity and inclusion, women in business, and student experiences.

Columbia MBA Deadlines (2025)

Columbia Business School offers two entry points for full-time MBA students: August Entry and January Entry (J-Term). Both paths consist of four terms and merge in the fall of the second year, ensuring identical academic rigor, student resources, and admissions competitiveness. However, there are key structural differences:

•    August Entry: Allows students to complete a summer internship, making it the preferred choice for those looking to explore new industries or career paths.

Columbia MBA Events - February 2025

Columbia Business School will host a total of 17 MBA events in February 2025, including 7 in-person events and 10 virtual events.

Virtual Events

The Virtual MBA Information Session on February 5 will give an overview of the application process and the program, hosted by an admissions representative. On the same day, the Dual MBA/Executive MS Campus Visit will provide prospective students the opportunity to tour the campus, speak with current students, and engage with the admissions team. 

Columbia MBA Events - January 2025

In January 2025, Columbia Business School will host a total of 3 events, with 2 of them being virtual and 1 in-person. These events are designed to help prospective MBA students gain a deeper understanding of the application process and the unique opportunities at Columbia Business School.

Virtual Events

On January 3, Women of CBS: Admissions Roundtable will be held virtually, offering prospective female applicants and their allies a chance to engage in a Q&A session with the admissions team about the Full-Time MBA application process before the January 7 deadline.

Background Information: An Oil & Gas Remote Engineer who had a phenomenal growth from a junior engineer to a remote engineer responsible for complex drilling projects and automating the entire operations, is assigned the role to develop strategies to retain the women workforce and develop a comprehensive plan to create an inclusive environment.

Columbia MBA PPIL Essay Example - Onboarding a non-traditional candidate

Background Information: A PE associate narrates the challenge of onboarding an older candidate to the team. The person had an illustrious career in Technology but was a newbie to the NFT fund the team was managing. 

Even with the history of recruiting non-traditional candidates from different backgrounds – the age (45+) bias, skepticism against a region known for its conservative values, and a warped view of the socio-economic exposure the candidate had, all culminate into resistance from the team in fully embracing the candidate’s ideas.

Columbia MBA PPIL Essay Example - Teenage Mental Health (Bipartisan Law)

Background Information: The fifth example is of a White Male liberal applicant working for a think tank in DC. Unlike ideologues-based think tanks, the non-profit that the applicant worked for has a history of helping Senators introduce transformative Acts. The secret ingredient behind the success was the composition of the team. 

With recruitment geared towards finding balance in political ideologies, the applicant was often paired with conservative team members who had a different perspective on spending limits, regulations, and the value of life. 

Columbia MBA Events - December 2024

Columbia Business School has 15 events scheduled for December 2024, including 4 in-person campus visits and 11 virtual sessions, offering prospective MBA students a range of opportunities to explore the school’s programs and community. 

Campus Visit

The MBA Campus Visit will take place on December 2, 5, 16, and 19, allowing participants to tour the Manhattanville campus, interact with admissions staff, and engage with current students. Virtual sessions cover diverse topics and programs.

In November 2024, Columbia Business School will host 16 events, with a mix of 9 in-person and 7 virtual events.

In-Person Events

Several in-person events will be held, including the Spotlight On: Veterans Club on 8th November, which allows attendees to explore the veteran community at CBS, network with current members, and experience a class.
