Woman IB Sample INSEAD Achievement and Failures Essay

Essay 2: Describe the achievement of which you are most proud and explain why. In addition, describe a situation where you failed. How did these experiences impact your relationships with others? Comment on what you learned (approximately 400 words).

In the third fictitious example, we look at the applicant’s upbringing in the Philippines and Australia, the orientation she received from her parents towards community engagement, and the strong sense of community she developed from her unique childhood.

The change she brought in the Investment Bank by starting a “Women in IB” chapter is quoted as her greatest achievement. During the initial year in her career, as someone who is not from a typical Finance background, she overcompensates in learning the quant aspects of the trade over managing the expectations of the client. A feedback from the manager is the basis of her realization that she had failed to consider all the factors that the client expects for a deal to close.

Sample Essay 3: Achievement and Failure (395 Words) (Woman and Non-Traditional background in IB)

As a young girl of mixed-race and living between the Philippines and Australia, I always felt like an outsider. My parents pushed me to embrace the local community wherever I lived. It meant mandatory social engagements, including participating in the local theatre, organizing fund-raising events, and helping the needy in the local community. The orientation from a young age helped me come out of my shell and empower the voiceless.

At G, the ratio of women to men was 1:8. Adding to the inequality was the number of women leaders in senior roles that were at 1%. Without a forum to express the concerns of women in Investment Banking, the challenges they face remained unheard. I proposed, championed, and started the .....
