The Consulting, Finance, and Technology trio dominated the top industries at Stern. Consulting found the largest representation (31%), and the total salary was in alignment with the benchmarked amount for the industry - $195,000.

The proximity to Wall Street makes NYU Stern the key source of MBA talent year-on-year. Up 3% from last year, in 2021, nearly a third of the class opted for investment banking roles and secured the highest median base salary of $175,000, tied with the offers received by Chicago Booth MBAs.

The high pre-MBA salary in law influenced the Law industry to earn the highest post-MBA salary of $190,000. Fifth place was a tie between the retail, private equity, and consumer packaged goods industries, each hiring 2% of graduates at Stern.
