$100k Samvid Venture Scholarships (US Immigrants)

Established in 2021, Samvid Venture Scholars was started by Entrepreneurs who leveraged the power of higher education to immigrate to the US and start a venture in the US, bootstrap, and grow into a sustainable business in four decades. The scholarship aims to support potential leaders in completing their graduate education.

Values: Clarity, Impact, Humility, and Boldness are the four core values of the scholar program. Make sure that these values are captured in the essays.

Eligibility and Application Criteria

•    US citizen or a DACA recipient, but permanent US residents are not eligible.
•    Candidates pursuing a graduate program of 2 years or even a dual degree program (MD, MBA, JD, MPP/MPA, MPH, and MS/MA in social sciences or STEM) from the United States  
•    Applicants who have not received the admission letter from the college can also Apply
•    Scholars are encouraged to participate in 2-year programming with an experienced cohort to refine their leadership skills
•    Second-year graduate students are not eligible.
•    At least a 3.5 GPA in Undergraduate Degree.

Events: Samvid Ventures organizes a three-day summer conference annually so that the new scholar can interact with the alumni and participate in the workshops and seminars. Scholars also attend several virtual bi-monthly events and panel discussions

Amount: $50k for tuition each year for two years

Essay Prompts: The online application for the Samvid Venture Scholarship includes several short essay questions. As a reference to those short essays, students can check the following essay questions from the previous year’s application form:
•    Describe your experience as a leader. In your response, be sure to describe an obstacle you faced and how you overcame it. (500 Words Max.)
•    What are your reasons for pursuing graduate study, and what do you hope to achieve with this degree? (500 Words Max.)
•    How have you demonstrated your commitment to driving a positive impact on society, and how do you envision doing so in the future? (500 Words Max.)
Optional Essay: We seek a cohort of future leaders representing diverse perspectives. What unique perspective would you contribute to the Samvid Scholars community? (250 Words Max)
