• 529 College Savings Plans and State Pre-Paid Programs: 529 College Savings Plans are tax-advantaged accounts specifically designed for higher education expenses. These plans allow withdrawals for tuition, fees, books, housing, dining, and other required expenses at accredited universities. To use these funds for student account balance, the account holder must coordinate qualified distributions. It's essential to contact the 529 College Savings Plan administrator at least 60 days before the start of each academic quarter to arrange withdrawals or direct payments. Both 529 Savings Plans and State Pre-Paid Programs can be utilized to satisfy student account balances.
• External Scholarships and Awards: External scholarships are monetary awards from third-party organizations to help cover educational costs.
