LBS MBA Cost Breakdown and Scholarships

In this in-depth total cost analysis and funding tips for London Business School MBA program, we cover:

When you factor in the total salary – PPP converted, LBS MBA has impressive other compensations, compared to the standard $30,000-$60,000 sign-on bonus in US schools, while the median base salary is $10,000 to $20,000 below the standard in US schools

Tuition Fees (London Business School MBA)

The total tuition fee for the London Business School MBA program is £119,950 ($162,712). This covers the tuition fees for the entire 15-22 months of the MBA program at LBS.

The MBA tuition fee for 2025 is £119,950 ($162,712). The tuition fee covers the entire 15-21-month program and is unaffected by the exit point that the students choose.

Non-Refundable Fees – On LBS MBA Admit

If a student is offered a place in the full-time MBA program, they will have to pay a £3,500 ($4,555) commitment fee within one month of the offer, followed by a £6,500 ($8,459) reservation fee. These are non-refundable fees deducted from the student’s total tuition fee.

LBS MBA Global Experience Cost – Not Included in Tuition Fees

LBS fees do not include any program-related travel expenses. Travel and lodging costs vary depending on the destination for the various Global Experiences.

In addition to school fees, a Student Association Fee of £380 ($515) pays for the Student Association (SA) subscription.

What is the total living cost for the London Business School MBA Program?

Aside from the college fee, students must also cover their living expenses, which include housing (£15,600 ($21,161)), transportation (£2,232 ($3,027)), food (£5,760 ($7,813)), and Utility (£3,563 ($4,833)). All of these costs along with the tuition fee and Student association fee add up to £148,685 ($200,1691) (approximately).

Apart from the tuition fee, here we have the cost table for a year for the students of the LBS MBA program in London.

Between the 2024–25 and 2025–26 academic years, the total annual cost of attending the LBS MBA program rose from £140,440 ($178,773) to £148,685. This reflects a year-over-year increase of £8,245 or approximately 5.87%.

Weaker Dollar Affects LBS MBA Cost - For International Students

When viewed in U.S. dollars, the increase appears more pronounced due to exchange rate fluctuations, with the total cost rising by $21,571, or about 12.06%, primarily reflecting a weaker dollar relative to the pound.

Tuition Fee Increase - 11.5% Increase (Dollar Terms)

Tuition increased from £115,000 ($146,389) in 2024–25 to £119,950 ($162,712) in 2025–26, an annual rise of £4,950 or 4.3%. However, in dollar terms, this jump amounts to $16,323 or 11.15%, underscoring the exchange rate’s impact on international students.

Transportation Cost Increase - 65% Jump (Dollar Terms)

Transportation costs rose significantly from £1,440 ($1,833) to £2,232 ($3,027), a 55% increase in pound terms and 65% in dollar terms.

Food Cost Increase - 20% Jump

Similarly, food expenses increased from £4,800 ($6,110) to £5,760 ($7,813), marking a 20% rise in both currencies.

Food Inflation: 20%

Accommodation - Surprising Drop of 7.1% & Flat in Dollar Terms but Utility Cost jumped by 74.7%

Accommodation, interestingly, decreased slightly from £16,800 to £15,600, a 7.1% drop in pound terms, though the dollar equivalent remained nearly flat due to currency changes.

The Student Association Fee increased modestly from £360 to £380 (5.6%), and utility costs jumped from £2,040 to £3,563—a substantial 74.7% increase, signaling a potential spike in energy or service costs.

Accommodation Inflation: Depreciation (Fell by 7% in Pounds and Flat in USD)

Utility Cost: High (more than 74%)

In summary, the overall increase in LBS MBA costs reflects both structural rises in tuition and living expenses, and the compounding effect of currency exchange movements for international students.

With the word limit typically in the 250 to 500 range, it is not easy to structure the essay without losing momentum.

As F1GMAT’s Lead Consultant and Essay Specialist, I will help you structure the essay by:

1)  Incorporating your Personal Brand

I will help you find unique life experiences that would differentiate you from the highly competitive LBS MBA application pool.

2)  Including Storytelling elements

I have developed a keen sense of storytelling from over a decade and a half of editing essays and writing essay examples for F1GMAT’s Essay Guides.

The skills that a writer/editor brings to the table are different from what a former admissions officer or a consultant who has limited writing skills brings

Review Skills # Writing Skills
Movie Critics # Movie Directors

It is easy to comment, but it is tough to structure the essay from the perspective of the applicant and turn the essay into a winning application essay.

3) Aligning with the Culture of the School

A big part of editing and guiding applicants is in educating them about the culture of the school

Some schools have very ‘specific’ traits that they are looking for in an applicant.

If you don’t highlight them and lean towards general leadership or cultural narratives, the essay won’t work.

I will guide you through the writing process.

I will also iteratively edit the essays without losing your original voice.
