Scholarship and Grants

Johnson offers $14 million in total scholarships each year. Around 35% of the accepted students receive scholarships. An admissions scholarship committee chooses the recipients and notifies them of the award as part of the admission decision notification process.

Johnson Endowed and Annual Scholarships: Cornell offers endowed scholarships with the support of donations from alumni, business partners, and private donors. Enrolling students qualifying for the merit awards are automatically eligible for these named awards.

Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Fellowship: Accepted Candidates who submit applications through The Consortium are considered for merit-based Fellowships with full tuition and ongoing professional development opportunities. The underrepresented groups – both citizens and permanent legal residents, showing a dedication to The Consortium's mission, are eligible for The Consortium Fellowship.

Park Leadership Fellowships: Up to twenty-five incoming students receive the fellowship, which covers their entire tuition costs each year. Only American citizens are eligible to apply for Park Fellowships. Applicants who submit an online application during the September or January Application Rounds or by the Consortium Early Application or Consortium Traditional Application Deadlines are considered for the Park Leadership Fellowship.

Forté Fellows Program: The Forté Fellowship is open to exceptional female candidates of all national origins who have been accepted. The admissions committee chooses the Forte Fellow. A separate application is not required.

ROMBA Fellowship: To show that business schools are the best place to develop the out LGBTQ and active ally business leaders of tomorrow, top business schools and Reaching Out collaborated to create the Reaching Out LGBTQ MBA Fellowship Program. Two beneficiaries will receive a minimum $10,000 scholarship per school year.

Sage Scholars Program: Johnson selects a small number of applicants each round to be named a Sage Scholar and awarded a scholarship on the basis of academic achievement as measured by undergraduate GPA and GMAT/GRE Score. Sage Scholars will be selected during the admissions process. No separate application is needed, but in order to be considered, students must submit a GMAT/GRE score during the admissions process.

The MD MBA Dual Degree Program (Lee Family Scholarship): The dual MD/MBA degree program is intended for individuals who desire to combine a medical profession with a business career. It trains students for leadership positions in major healthcare organizations, pharmaceutical corporations, biotechnology companies, and other health-related industries.

Lester B. Knight M.Eng./MBA Scholarship: Top students are encouraged and supported by the Lester B. Knight Scholarship to pursue MBA and M.Eng. degrees at Cornell. Knight Scholarships can offer up to $60,000 in tuition assistance. The students who are enrolled in the M.Eng. degree program at Cornell receive Knight Scholars worth a $15,000 tuition award per semester for up to two semesters and a $15,000 tuition award per semester for up to two semesters while enrolled in the MBA degree program.

GI Bill Assistance (Post 9/11 and Yellow Ribbon): In addition to the Post-9/11 tuition benefit, Cornell University and Johnson signed a contract with the US Department of Veterans Affairs in order to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program.

Roy H. Park Leadership Fellows Program: The Roy H. Park Fellowship is a two-year full-tuition fellowship award given to up to 25 full-time Johnson MBA candidates who have shown exceptional leadership potential. Loan Programs

Repayments on manageable student loans range from 6.5 to 12% of post-tax income or 5 to 9.5% of gross starting wage. Unsubsidized Loans and PLUS Loans, which are offered to Graduate or Professional Students, are the two federal direct loan programs.

Federal loan programs may be replaced with private loans from various commercial lending companies. Loans need to be applied for separately with the lender. The borrower's credit history, credit score, and fixed and variable rate offer all influence interest rates.

Financial Planning for International Students

A no co-signer loan is available to accepted students in the full-time Two-Year MBA and One-Year Johnson Cornell Tech MBA programs. This loan is provided due to the partnership between Johnson and QUORUM Federal Credit Union (QFCU). The fund allows international students to get loans up to the cost of tuition (plus $10,000 over the program duration to help cover fees) without a co-signer.
