2022 Graduating Class ISB Placements and Salary (Analysis)

ISB secured an all-time high average salary of 34.08 lakhs, a 7-lakh hike in salary with the highest ever number of offers – 2072 for the 2022 graduating class. More than 130 first-time recruiters registered for the PGP Class of 2022. Opportunities in Consulting, Product Management, Sales and Marketing, and Analytics functions enhanced the impressive recruitment trends. 52 companies gave more than 10 offers each, while the total companies for the 2022 recruitment touched 393 – a 25% increase.

ISB PGP Salary by Industry (2022)

Although the share of the industries such as Urban Mobility and Transportation/Logistics/Operations was not high, the salary provided by these sectors was the highest.

Urban Mobility offered 37.3 lakhs whereas Transportation and Logistics offered 34.9 lakhs salary.

The highest salary increment was in Technology (40% increment), Urban Mobility (37% increment), and Banks/Financial Institutions/Financial Services (37%).  With no industries experiencing a decline in remuneration, industries with modest to a good increase in salary were FMCG/Retail/Consumer Durables (5% increment), E-commerce (5% increment), Telecom (10% increment), and Infrastructure/ Construction/Real Estate (12% increment).

The highest-placing industries, such as IT/ITES and Consulting, observed an increment of 24% and 15%, respectively.

2022 vs. 2021 (Offers): Consulting experienced 4% growth in offers while E-Commerce trying to revive its glory days, shows signs of revival with a 6% increase in offers as compared to last year’s 8% decline.  Banking maintained the 10-12% offer range. Despite a lower salary, E-commerce managed to experience a 5% increase in offers.

Consulting took 37% of the total offers, while the IT/ITES and Banks/Financial Institutions/Financial Services industries were a distant second (12% each). Despite the 40% increase in salary, the Technology sector still faced a sharp drop of 7% in offers.

ISB PGP Salary by Function (2022)

Consulting’s lead on placement and remuneration was evident, with 37% of total placements and an impressive 33.5-lac median total salary. Sales/Marketing, Finance, and General Management, despite the lower quartile salary range (29-31 lacs), continue to attract 18%, 7%, and 9% of the total offers, respectively.

Interestingly, all functions experienced salary growth, ranging from 10 to 50%, with Consulting offers up by a standard of 16%, Product Management by 25%, Technology by 46%, General Management by 25%, while Sales & Marketing were up by 17%. The biggest jump in salary was seen in the Technology industry with a 46% rise, despite the industry also observing a 4% decline in job offers.

2022 vs. 2021 (Offers): Consulting function took the highest share of the offers (+3%), filling the gap from Technology (-3%), General Management (-3%), Product Management (-2%). Sales and Marketing saw a great surge in offers rising from 14% in 2021 to 18% in 2022. The Finance function also recovered its lost share of offers and gained a 2% share.

ISB PGP Placement & Salary by Location (2022)

18% of alumni continue to work in international locations, which is the same as before. The institution is still moving through with its plan to send pupils to foreign countries. Companies from Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Nigeria, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other nations have collaborated with ISB in recent years. A few businesses that have hired from ISB include Arthur D. Little, EY Parthenon, The Apparel Group, and Landmark Group. Graduates of the ISB have gone on to run some of the top businesses in a variety of industries, including finance, FMCG, and technology, among others.

Regarding national postings, ISB makes an attempt to interact with recruiters from a variety of locations, including Kolkata, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vijayawada, and Cochin, among others. Companies from these regions as well as India's rising cities have shown interest in hiring ISB talent. Senior-level positions, including CMOs and COOs, have come from these locations, and ISB students have expressed interest in taking on such positions.

ISB PGP Top Employers (2022)

For the PGP Class of 2022, more than 130 first-time recruiters registered. Opportunities in consulting, product management, sales and marketing, and analytics have seen remarkable improvement. More than ten offers came from 52 companies. For the Class of 2022's campus placements, 393 businesses registered. For the Class, there were 2072 job offers made. By inviting more than 250 organizations for the Pre-Placement Process, Seminars, Workshops, and Industry Treks, the groundwork for a successful Placement season was created.
