Less Experience

Can an MBA candidate with 2 years of experience get into a top MBA Program? Probability is low, but that should not keep the younger aspirants from trying. You have a higher chance of getting into a top business school if you show passion, aptitude and leadership in your application.

A high GMAT Score is expected out of you. If you have scored in the mid 700 for GMAT and above 3.0 for your GPA, then you have crossed the first hurdle. Because it has hardly been 2 years since you left the academic world, the admission committee would expect you to be that candidate who does all the assignments on time. Therefore, your essay should emphasize your eagerness to learn new business concepts. Admission committee gives high preference for innovation and creativity. Mention any academic or work related projects where you have come up with innovative ideas or solutions.

If you have experiences (like starting an entrepreneurial venture, leading a community project or a club, or an academic achievement like winning debate, quiz competition etc) that show your ability to take initiative, then try to convince the admission officer that your lack of experience in real world can be compensated with these experiences.
