Kellogg MBA Cost: 2023-24 VS 2024-25

The Kellogg MBA program costs have experienced fluctuations between the academic years 2023-24 and 2024-25. 

Tuition Fees Hike at Kellogg MBA

Tuition fees have increased from $81,015 to $83,610, reflecting a 3.20% rise, much lower than the inflation rate of 4.1%

Kellogg MBA - Food and Housing Costs 

Food and housing expenses have also gone up, from $19,800 to $21,150, marking a 6.82% increase. 

Books and Travel Expense 

The cost of books and supplies has seen a significant rise of 24.58%, increasing from $1,647 to $2,052. 

Travel expenses have risen from $1,329 to $1,548, which is a 16.48% increase.

Personal Expenses 

Personal expenses have decreased from $3,150 to $2,700, reflecting a 14.29% drop. 

Health Insurance Cost 

Health insurance costs have increased by 8.31%, going from $5,144 to $5,571. 

Computer and Student Fees

The cost of computer equipment remains unchanged at $1,200. Similarly, the Student Activity and Experience Fee, along with the Student Association Fee, remain unchanged at $1,400 and $390, respectively. The First Year Fee also remains constant at $2,000.

The University Health Services Fee has seen a slight increase of 3.76%, from $798 to $828. 

Loan Fees 

Loan fees have increased from $2,559 to $2,742, marking a 7.15% rise.

Overall, the estimated expenses for the Kellogg MBA program have increased from $120,432 in 2023-24 to $125,191 in 2024-25, which represents a total increase of 3.95%. Among all the expenses, books and supplies experienced the highest percentage increase.

Kellogg MBA Scholarships and Fellowships

Exceptional students who have exhibited professional and personal success are eligible for scholarships. 

Students are automatically considered for all merit scholarships after being accepted into one of Kellogg’s programs. 

Kellogg also offers an optional Financial Need-Based Scholarship application for U.S. citizens and permanent residents throughout the admissions process.

Austin Scholars & Finance Fellows

Austin Scholars: Within the Two-Year and MMM Programs, the F.C. Austin Scholarship is given to candidates with extraordinary leadership in academic and professional pursuits. No separate application is required.  

Finance Fellow: Finance Fellows is a new full-tuition grant for students enrolled in the Two-Year Program who want to make a difference in the finance industry or function. Candidates must write an additional essay in the 'Career Goals' portion of their Kellogg application to be considered for Finance Fellows. An essay prompt will appear whenever a finance industry or finance function is selected in the 'industry desired after Kellogg' or 'functional area sought after Kellogg' sections. The award for the Finance Fellows is optional. It will not influence the acceptance.

Essay: “What excites you about finance? How do you plan to make an impact as you pursue a finance career after earning your Kellogg MBA?” (250 words)

Merit-Based Scholarships

Merit scholarships are given to outstanding students who have excelled in one or more aspects of their applications. Except for the Finance Fellows, who have an extra essay housed inside the Kellogg application, admitted students are immediately considered for all merit scholarships. They are announced when students have accepted an offer.

Kellogg MBA Past Scholarships

There were no new scholarships added to the Kellogg Funding options, but 4 previously added scholarships were removed for the 2024-25 academic session. One of these scholarships was for women, one for students from finance background, one for students from liberal arts, whereas one for students with excellent academic performance. Kellogg MBA Financial Need-Based Scholarships

Financial need-based scholarships may be available to admitted One-Year MBA, Two-Year MBA, and MMM applicants who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Students must submit the optional Financial Need-Based Scholarship Application during the admissions process.

If adequate academic progress is maintained, current students in the Two-Year MBA and MMM Programs who obtained a Financial Need-Based Scholarship in their first year are eligible to have their grant renewed for their second year.

Kellogg MBA Second Year Scholarships and External Scholarships

These scholarships are for second-year students with strong academic performance and leadership qualities.

Zell Fellows: Zell Fellows help the Kellogg second-year students to start a new venture or to acquire an existing venture. So far, the program has launched 77 ventures and raised over $705 million.

McGowan Fellows Program for Second-Year Students: One second-year MBA student who displays academic distinction, leadership potential, and a commitment to public service will receive a full-tuition scholarship. Students must have completed their first year of MBA study and an academic ranking in the top 5% of the class to be eligible for this grant. They must also show leadership and a commitment to ethical leadership and social improvement, as well as consent to being mentored by a Kellogg executive-level business leader.

Kellogg MBA Loans

Students who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States can apply for loans through the Federal Loan Programs, which include:

•    Stafford Loans Direct Unsubsidized by the Federal Government
•    Graduate PLUS Loans from the Federal Government

All students, including U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and overseas students, can apply for private education loans.

US. Citizens and Permanent residents are eligible for the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford, and Federal Direct Graduate PLUS loan with loan amounts up to $20,500 per year.

Private Education Loans

The Office of Financial Aid is open to lenders of the student’s choice. International students should investigate financing alternatives in their home country and/or place of residence.

Loan Assistance for Graduates

The Collins Family Loan Assistance Program (LAP) reduces Kellogg alumni's college debt burden, allowing them to pursue professions in the public and non-profit industries for at least two years after graduation.

GI & Veterans Benefits

Candidates eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits as specified on the Certificate of Eligibility sent by the US Department of Veterans Affairs are eligible for Yellow Ribbon Program benefits (VA).
