Haas MBA Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) – Overview, Amount and Criteria

The Haas Loan Repayment Assistance Programme (LRAP) assists graduates who have incurred large debt from their education and feel restricted in their career choices. Haas LRAP offers a grant, disbursed 6 months after graduation, to cover all the college loan payments in the past half year. Those who are placed within 3 months of graduation typically receive the payment around 1 year after graduation, itemized as the Professional Degree Fee (PDF). The grants are paid only from the month the candidate was in employment.

Decision: Haas LRAP is decided by the Haas Financial Aid Office.

Amount: Reimburses up to and including $95,000 for 100% of their required monthly payments

Criteria
1. Candidates must spend more than 50% of their time with a government agency (any unit of municipal, state, or national government), non-profit (charitable organization categorized under Sections 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4)) or an organization operating in Social IMPACT

Social Impact Criteria

• Entrepreneurs building ventures with social IMPACT as the primary goal
• Candidates working in for-profit or CSR roles will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis (income-based)
• Only in extraordinary circumstances candidates working outside the US or employed by a non-US organization will be considered for LRAP

Eligible Loans

The LRAP will only repay payments made on loans (private and federal) borrowed during and to fund studies in the Haas Full-time MBA Programme that include:

• FTMBA Loan
• D.K. Kim Loan
• Federal Direct Loan
• Federal Graduate PLUS Loan
• Risk-share loans for international students
• Private loans certified by the Haas Financial Aid Office
