LBS MBA Essay: What makes you unique? (200 words)

Background Information: The applicant, a Uruguay native who overcame poverty, reflects on the struggle of a single-parent household, violence in the neighborhood, and the IMPACT, mentorship had in orienting himself towards Math and soccer.

Profile: Entrepreneur

Industry: Education

MBA Essay Strategy: I have used a humble brag strategy by sharing the adversity the applicant faced growing up in a violent neighborhood, and then citing that growing up in adversity is not unique. By concluding the uniqueness of his team and his mission, the essay shifts focus to a larger mission.

Opener: Starting the essay with ‘the value of education’ is one way to reiterate the theme of the essay.
