IMD MBA is a 11-Month Full-time MBA program with focus on leadership and personal development. The program starts from January and ends in December. Before starting the core subjects, IMD offers a Pre-Program in accounting, finance and statistics.

The core areas covered in IMD MBA program are Accounting, Critical Thinking, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Global Political Economy, Innovation, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour, Production and Operations Management and Strategy.

IMD MBA students can deepen their knowledge about any course with elective courses. They can choose 5 electives from a wide range of electives. The elective courses available in 2012-13 are Advanced Economics, Advanced Finance, Advanced Negotiations, Advanced Presentation Skills, Advanced Supply Chain Management, Business History, Corporate Reputation, Enterprise IT Strategy, Entrepreneurship - a longer view, Ethical Dilemmas in Finance, Gender Balance in Organizations, Growth through Acquisitions, Alliances and Joint Ventures, How to Accelerate Strategy and Execution, Leadership: An Introduction to Advanced Group Dynamics, Leadership in Organizations, Monte Carlo Simulations, Private Equity and Venture Capital, Service Marketing and Management, Structured Problem Solving and The Practice of Business Diplomacy.

Projects: The projects in IMD are hands-on, where students get the chance to work with companies of different sizes, industries and verticals. The projects are divided into three categories: Start-Up projects, Discovery Expedition and International Consulting. 

a) The start-up projects allow students to develop Business plan with real start-up companies. This is an opportunity for IMD students to understand how Entrepreneurs think.

b) The second project is the Discovery Expedition, where students work with Small and Medium Enterprise in South Africa. This is a new challenge for students as they have to understand how Business is conducted in a different culture.

c) The third project is the International Consulting Projects where students work directly with CEOs and executive Board Members on strategic issues.  The objective of the International Consulting Project is to find a new growth opportunity in the company and also to plan and implement a change that adds to the bottom line of the company. 

LEADERSHIP & PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: The primary objective of the IMD MBA Leadership and personal development program is to increase self-awareness and improve decision making process.  With the program, students will learn to interact with diverse groups, make challenging decisions and design an action plan, which would be presented to gain support of the team. Outdoor team-building exercises are integral in the IMD leadership development program. Personal Development program require students to do an in-depth self-analysis exercise, identify strengths and weaknesses and learn to lead teams through coaching. 

The Career Services team is active with personalized services like Self-Assessment, CV Writing, Effective Interviewing and Workshops. IMD has a strong alumni network with 60000 alumni spread over 30 countries. The learning network in IMD includes over 180 companies. Both IMD Alumni and Learning network contribute more than 40% of job offers for IMD MBA graduates.
