Located at the University Of New South Wales (UNSW) in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, the AGSM MBA has been one of Australia’s premier MBA programs for the past three decades. Established in 1977 by the University at the behest of the Australian Government, the AGSM MBA has produced many global leaders and 33 years since its foundation it is ranked amongst the top 40 MBA programs in the world.
History in Brief
In 2007, UNSW Vice-Chancellor, Professor Fred Hilmer, focused on pooling the complementary strengths of AGSM and UNSW’s Faculty of Commerce and Economics into an integrated comprehensive business school, which would leverage its capabilities across undergraduate programs, MBA programs, specialist masters degrees, executive education and research. AGSM MBA Programs are now delivered by the Australian School of Business. The recognised rigour and distinctiveness of these programs is a feature of the new Australian School of Business.
Full Time MBA
Program Description: The AGSM MBA program is currently ranked 36 in the world (Financial Times UK Global MBA Rankings 2010). The program lays great stress and importance to its class makeup and diversity. Over 70% of participants come from outside Australia, representing more than 25 nationalities. With an average age of 29, participants draw on around 6 years of professional experience in fields ranging from consulting to military contract support and government. Their academic backgrounds include engineering, business, law, design and military study.
The program is a generalist MBA preparing graduates for leadership roles in business and government. Recent developments and emphasis in program content has centred around sustainability management learning, cross –functional decision-making capability and adaptive leadership. The program integrates scenario modelling and simulations into traditional classroom teaching, using the case study method and a strong emphasis on teamwork and cohesion to develop management skills, encourage critical thinking and sharpen decision-making abilities
AGSM MBA (Executive)
Program Description: The AGSM MBA (Executive) program is a two stage program designed for professionals looking to further develop their leadership career and accelerate in their professional career advancement in their chosen business field. It is very focussed on application of business studies into the workplace. Students are experienced, highly ambitious and excellent time managers.

Program description: The GCCM is a unique online graduate certificate program comprising 4 innovative modules aiming to develop effective agents of change.
