Chicago Booth EMBA: Leadership Curriculum (Analysis)

A cornerstone of the Booth EMBA Leadership program is the Global Career and Leadership Development (GCLD) initiative, designed specifically for executive-level students. This comprehensive program combines classroom experiences with workshops, personalized coaching, alumni discussions, and career guidance, fostering cultural competency and adaptability in leadership.

Do Booth Executive MBA candidates also have a LEAD course?

Central to the curriculum is the Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD) course, a mandatory component for all MBA students, including Executive MBA students.

LEAD integrates career and executive-level leadership experiences, drawing on the principles articulated by Professor Harry L. Davis- self-awareness, integrity, Vision and strategic thinking, adaptability, empathy, and emotional intelligence. This experiential course combines workshops, networking opportunities, industry insights, and one-on-one coaching to cultivate self-awareness and facilitate lifelong leadership development.

The LEAD course encompasses Executive Coaching through which the students will have access to a talented team of executive coaches in Chicago, London, and Hong Kong, with whom the students will have 1:1 coaching.

How can Booth EMBA candidates gain leadership exposure from Alumni?

The annual Global Executive Connections provides EMBA students access to high-level business leaders across various industries through open dialogue in one-hour small group sessions. Additionally, the Distinguished Executive-in-Residence Program offers a unique opportunity for students to engage directly with successful Booth eminent alumni. These distinguished executives share their wealth of knowledge and provide mentorship, guidance, and support to students in one-to-one sessions, enriching their leadership journey.

Any unique courses at Booth EMBA for Leadership Development?

The Mindful Leadership Series is one such unique course. The series provides a platform for discussing challenging leadership issues like failure, accountability, inclusivity, gratitude, and positive psychology, complemented by Leadership Tune-Ins- quick, engaging events that provide material and peer coaching, study group support, and Industry Insight Circles- connects students with the leader of their field, enhancing the value of the learning experience.

Through these initiatives, the Chicago Booth EMBA program ensures that participants not only develop strong leadership competencies but also receive comprehensive career support and mentorship, equipping them to navigate the complexities of the business world and drive meaningful change in all roles.
