The overall median annual salary at Duke Fuqua, as per the 2022-23 employment report, is $160,055, along with a $30,000 median signing bonus. The hiring organizations taking part in the recruitment were diverse - representing 77 public, 34 private, eight partnerships, four non-profits, three subsidiaries, and one government organization.
Duke Fuqua Full-time MBA Salary by Industry (2022)
Consulting (36%) and Technology (23%) were the top industries of Duke Fuqua in the 2022 placements. Financial Services, with a 16% hiring rate, stood at number three. But as per the remuneration data, the highest compensation was offered to Consulting and Finance industries, both reaching $175,000. Apart from these trio Health Care (11%) and Consumer Packaged Goods (4%) also found substantial representation.
Although Technology is one of the top industries, the hiring rates for the industry have fallen in the last two years, when the industry had a 27% hiring rate. Similarly, the hiring rate of Financial Services has also been declining, but on the other hand Healthcare and Consulting sector (4% rise) is experiencing a surge in placements.
Consulting: Most MBA graduates—121 found employment in the consulting sector. Fewer people hold roles in more specialized fields, including Marketing, Human Resources, Marketing, and M&A. 94% of students chose Strategic/General Consulting as their major.
Technology: In 2022, similar percentages of Duke MBAs joining the technology sector accepted jobs in Internet/eCommerce (28%), Software (26%), and General Technology (24%), respectively. Less than one-sixth of these graduates sought employment in equipment, hardware, and networking (14%) positions. There were significantly fewer MBAs who pursued "other" tech and telecom.
Financial Services: Sixty-six percent of Duke MBA graduates seeking jobs in the financial services sector in 2022 chose investment banking. In comparison, a comparable number of graduates (17%), who work in the "other" financial services sector, have employment in asset management (4%), private equity/venture capital (6%), and investment management (6%). Very few of them have accepted jobs in the insurance industry.
Health Care: Nearly equal percentages of graduates entering the health care sector in 2022 will work in the provider/payer (24%) and biotechnology/pharmaceuticals (26%) divisions. This year, a comparable amount of graduates describe their industrial category as "other" or "general." fewer medical device jobs have been accepted than in 2021.

Duke Fuqua Full-time MBA Salary by Function (2022)
Consulting is the prime function at Duke Fuqua, with a 40% hiring rate and a $175,000 median base salary (the highest salary for a function). Finance (24%) is in the second position, which was followed by General Management (15%) and Marketing/Sales (14%). In their new jobs, 25% of all graduates entered consulting. Nearly a quarter of graduates are employed in the financial sector, although general management and marketing/sales sectors also draw 14-15% of MBAs.
A five-plus year high of 40% of Duke MBA grads selected consulting employment in 2022, up seven percentage points from the previous year. A five-year high of five percentage points was also seen in Finance roles.
While the ratio of general management functions continues to decline slowly, marketing and sales roles have relatively stabilized.
Consulting: Similar to previous years, most consulting positions accepted by our 2022 graduates (89%) are in strategic/general consulting. Most non-strategic/general roles (6%), primarily consulting within non-consulting organizations, are internal consulting roles.
Finance: Investment banking will employ more Duke MBAs in 2022 than any other finance function (46%). Following closely is Corporate Finance (28%). The final quarter of financial functions comprises Investment Management (4%), Private Equity/Venture Capital (8%), and other comparable roles.
General Management: Twenty-five percent of Duke MBA graduates in 2022 who are employed in general management roles are involved in product management, and another twenty-five percent have been accepted into leadership development programs. The third quarter of students was employed in business development (12%) and internal consultancy (6%) (analytics and corporate strategy).
Marketing/Sales: Nearly 62 percent of Duke 2022 MBAs working in marketing or sales are in the brand/product management role. Less than 10% of these graduates took jobs in conventional sales.

Duke Fuqua Full-time MBA Salary by Locations (2022)
In 2022, job opportunities abroad lagged. A little over 3% of full-time Duke MBA positions were located outside the United States, and the rest, 97%, were placed in the US. There were international jobs in Tokyo, Singapore, Sao Paulo, Toronto, Santiago, and Bogota.
Out of the total students in North America, 29% got placed in the Northeast, 25% in the West, 17% in the South, 14% in the Southwest, 9% in the Mid-Atlantic, and 6% in the Midwest.
The top cities where MBA grads were employed include New York, Atlanta, Seattle, Washington DC, San Francisco, Boston, Charlotte, Austin, and Chicago.
Since Consulting, Finance, and Technology were the top industries at Duke Fuqua, most students got placed in the Northeast, the Finance and Consulting Hub, and West Coast, the Tech Hub.
Duke Fuqua Full-time MBA - Top Employers
Unlike the 2021 employment report, in 2022, Boston Consulting Group dominated the hiring at Duke Fuqua, accepting 20 more graduates than Deloitte and leaving it in the second position. The third place was, however, reserved by the previous leaders - Amazon, with 18 hires.
Consulting and the Technology industry had the highest number of employers. This time Financial Services had more firms with the entry of Barclays and Citi. Optum was out of the list of healthcare firms, but two new firms, i.e., DaVita and Johnson & Johnson, entered the list of Top employers for healthcare.

98% of the MBA grads secured first job offers within three months of their post-graduation.
81% of all jobs were facilitated by school activities, whereas 19% were graduate facilitated. Out of the total jobs sourced by the school, 31% were internships converted into full-time jobs. 16% were offered by the career center activities such as job fairs, employer events, and information meetings.
Job secured through internship conversion saw a drastic drop in 2022 from uncertain market conditions. However, the on-campus interview contributed to 15% of the total employment.
Rest 64 students who secured a job through graduate-facilitated activities got theirs through sources such as internship conversions, personal connections, and online job postings.
