Overview

At the heart of the Ross Executive MBA program lies a robust leadership curriculum deeply entrenched in the Michigan Model of Leadership (MMOL). This model, honed over half a century of empirical research by Robert Quinn, Kim Cameron, and other Michigan faculty, operates across three key levels: self-mastery, empowerment of peers and employees, and effective team and organizational building.

Seminars, Labs, and Experiential Learning

The Legacy Lab, a cornerstone of the Ross experience, offers reflective workshops in fall and winter, fostering personal growth and enhancing influence through engaging activities like 1:1 sessions, Group discussions, self-development advancing sessions, and peer interactions. Similarly, the Leadership Crisis Challenge immerses students in action-based learning, providing opportunities to collaborate on multidisciplinary teams and devise strategies to navigate complex business crises.

What is Ross’ EMBA Leadership Crisis Challenge?

For example, in the Leadership Crisis Challenge, as the crisis unfolds, the individuals and their teams will assume the positions of senior executives entrusted with managing it. They will be inundated with emails, social media updates, calls, and various forms of communication throughout. Following this, on next day, they will convene at Michigan Stadium to unveil their plan to the public, media, and the board of directors, comprising distinguished U-M alumni. Along the way, they will receive tailored advice from faculty experts, corporate leaders, and communication mentors. The Crisis Challenge program is sponsored by General Motors and McKinsey.
