Queen’s MBA is a 12-Month Full-time MBA program provided in Kingston, Canada. The program has a focus on teamwork, personal coaching and experiential learning. Queen’s Full-time MBA program starts with three refresher courses: Accounting, Finance and Statistics. These are not-for-credit optional courses conducted as a one day session.
Some of the interesting courses in the core curriculum are: Leadership, Negotiation and Conflict Management, Acquisition & Analysis of Information for Management, Management Accounting, Finance Fundamentals, Corporate and Marketing Strategy, Managing Information Technology, Finance Strategy, International Business, Corporate Social Responsibility, Strategic Implementation and Change, Organizational Behaviour, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Capstone Simulation and Consulting & Project Management.
As part of the core curriculum Queen’s MBA students are divided into teams. The team members will work together on projects, presentations and other activities. The teams consist of 6-7 member students, carefully constituted to maximize diversity and experience. Each team is assigned with a personal coach, who monitors the performance of each group and provides constant feedback essential for their performance.
International MBA Exchange Program: Queen’s MBA students can be part of exchange programs (2 weeks to 5 months) during Jan-April in the following partner schools: Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, Queensland University of Technology, Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, Fundação Getulio Vargas, China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), ESSEC Business School, IIM Bangalore, Indian School of Business , Nagoya University of Commerce & Business Administration, Rotterdam School of Management, St. Petersburg State University, Singapore, National University of Singapore and Aston Business School to name a few.
An interesting aspect of Queen’s MBA is personal coaching. The coaching team is divided into personal coach, team coach, career coach and a fitness and lifestyle coach. Another feature unique to Queen’s MBA is the Fit to Lead program(optional), that focuses on student’s mental, emotional and physical well-being. With the Fit to Lead program students will work on a variety of life improvement activities that can help create a balanced life. To provide Queen’s MBA students with handling real world projects, Queen’s School of Business has introduced Tri-Colour Venture Fund. Students will gain experience in managing a real multi-million dollar find.
Queen’s Business Career Centre team provides the The Career-Step® program, a structured approach to career and job search. An interesting aspect of the Career Service is the The Direct Connect Program, which provides direct access to key decision makers in an organization. Queen’s also provides MBA students to take part in the on-campus recruitment events, which attracts over 100 companies.
