Ivey MBA is a 12-Month Full-time MBA program with a focus on developing Business Fundamentals and learning with cases & Business Simulation. The Business Fundamentals are covered in the core curriculum with the lecture series.
Before starting the core curriculum, students can optionally take three courses: Economics Primer, Finance & Accounting Primer and Quantitative Analysis Primer. These courses will allow students to acclimatize with the pace of the actual MBA program and refresh some of the basic Business concepts necessary for the MBA program.
The core curriculum starts with Business Essentials. The courses in the core curriculum are Accounting and Control for Managers, Decision Making with Analytics, Developing and Executing Strategies, Leading People and Organizations, Managing Operations, Marketing Products and Services, Leveraging Information Technology, Macroeconomics for Business Decisions and Communicating Effectively.
Based on the career goals, Ivey MBA can choose from six concentrations: Finance, Entrepreneurship, Corporate Strategy & Leadership, International Management, Marketing and Health Sector. The electives are then chosen based on the concentrations. Students can select from a wide range of electives. Some of the interesting courses are Business Law, Competing with Analytics, Consumer Brands Marketing, Corporate Financial Reporting, Entrepreneurial Manager, Financial Strategies for Global Success, Global Marketing, Global Supply Management, Health Management, Negotiating for Leaders, New Media Marketing, New Venture Creation, Portfolio Management and Strategy Implementation, Sustainable Business Practices, Transformational Leadership and Value Investing
An interesting aspect of the Ivey MBA program is the Leading Cross-Enterprise Module. This module is designed for students who want to do consulting, lead in an organization or start their own venture, post-MBA. For each career goals, Ivey MBA has developed four courses: Cross Enterprise Leadership, Entrepreneurship Challenge, Global Business Environment and Ivey Consulting Project/Ivey New Venture Project
The Ivey Consulting project allows students to develop solutions for real Business problems. Students will utilize the knowledge and skills acquired during the program to provide real world solutions to company representatives. Alternatively, Entrepreneurial MBA students can develop their ideas from scratch and convert them into a viable Business plan. The Business plan is reviewed by an Expert Review Panel and a detailed feedback is provided at the end of the course.
