MBA Application Essay Questions


Kellogg School of Management has released the essay questions for class entering in 2014. There are three mandatory questions for applicants. The third essay has two parts. For re-applicants, there is one additional question about their candidacy. To explain gaps in employment or any other discrepancy in the profile, there is an optional essay.

Wharton has released the MBA Application Essay Questions for the Class of 2016. Here are the questions:

Darden School of Business has taken a cue from Harvard Business School and changed the number of essay for the 2013-14 MBA Application cycle to one. Here is the essay question:

Q) Share your thought process as you encountered a challenging work situation or complex problem. What did you learn about yourself?

Stanford Graduate School of Business has announced the Essay Questions for the Class of 2016, entering Fall 2014. An interesting point that the Adcom mentions about the word limit is that the combined word limits of Essay 1, 2 and 3 should not exceed 1600 words. This gives the applicants the flexibility to write less or more in one essay without worrying about meeting the word limit of each essay. Having said that, applicants are recommended to meet the word limits of each essay without looking too forced.
