History

IE Business School was created in 1973 as a private initiative designed to offer postgraduate training programmes in the field of business administration and senior management. The last three decades have seen marked changes in the environment, circumstances, and different economic cycles, but IE Business School is still recognised for its entrepreneurial spirit and its commitment to innovation.

Courses Offered

International MBA

The International MBA lasts 13 months, and is held on IE’s central-Madrid campus. With an intake in Spring and Fall, its five teaching periods cover subject matter that becomes progressively more detailed and challenging. The International MBA offers 2 dual degree programs either in international affairs at the Fletcher School at Tufts, or Logistics and Supply Chain Management at either the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics in the USA, or at the MIT- Zaragoza Logistics

Requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent
- At least three years of work experience
- Application form + 2 letters of recommendation + 3 essays
- GMAT (average: 680) or IE Admission Test
- Personal interview
- Certificate of proficiency in the English language (where applicable), e.g.: TOEFL (minimum: 250)

Global MBA

The Global MBA is a 15-month, highly innovative online program that can be followed from anywhere in the world. Intended for young professionals, the Global MBA allows you to study for an MBA without relinquishing your career, providing the flexibility required to study and work at the same time, no matter where you are in the world. The global MBA has one intake inf the fall (English) and one in the spring (Spanish).The Global MBA is carefully structured to progressively cover the fundamentals of management know-how and later introduce more advanced concepts.

The Global MBA Virtual Campus brings participants together from all over the world for asynchronous online sessions (a mix of forums and multimedia) open during the week at your convenience, as well as Live Interactive Video Sessions, conducted on Saturdays in which you will participate in real-time in hands-on cases.In order to increase your exposure to current business practices and interaction with peers, the Global MBA features 2 residential periods, lasting 5 days each, which allow you to meet professors and classmates, experience management skills workshops, and network with the experts. The Integration Days also give you the opportunity to travel, experience other cultures and, thanks to our Community Integration Events, address current business challenges.

Requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent
- Several years of work experience are expected although this requirement is flexible. Students must be working during the program.

- GMAT (average: 680) or IE Admission Test

International Executive MBA

The International Executive MBA program lasts 13 months and has two intakes each year, one starting in November and the other in June. The program offers two timetabling options which compliment the part-time nature of the program to guarantee utmost flexibility. The online version of the International Executive MBA combines 2 asynchronous, online training periods (lasting 22 weeks each) with 3 face-to-face sessions lasting 2 weeks each. The face-to-face sessions consolidate the work done throughout the program with seminars focused on skill-building activities, individual presentations, group projects and assessment tests. Of these three sessions, the first and last are conducted at the central campus in Madrid with the remaining one in Shanghai in the middle of the program

The bi-weekly format comprises classes every other weekend at IE’s central-Madrid campus. This format fosters face-to-face interaction within the classroom at short intervals, as well as dynamic & continuous personal development through group work. Like the online course, the bi-weekly International Executive MBA also includes a trip to Shanghai, where you will study at the Fudan School of Management, providing you with valuable exposure to global business trends in an international environment

"I have not reviewed many books for MBA Admission consulting companies but doing it now to give all applicants a brief idea on what the book covers. The book includes 31 top MBA programs - almost all the top schools you have heard or considering for your MBA application. Each chapter is categorized by US States where there is at least one top MBA program. So you have California and Massachusetts with the most number of MBA programs and several states with one top program (Washington, Minnesota, Washington D.C., Connecticut, Virginia, and Maryland) and other states with two to three MBA programs. The book focuses on four aspects of an MBA program - curriculum, cost, class profile and post-MBA salary. For me, the breakdown of the cost and post-MBA industry was useful to make my decision on selecting the top 5 programs for 2017-18. It is a fascinating read in an industry where consultants overprice for their expertise. I recently bought a 30-page guide for $49.
